About this product

Refractory mortar bonds fire bricks in the dome and walls of a pizza oven, and is used to re-point loose bricks during repairs. Ordinary building mortar breaks down under oven heat, so the joints in the hot part of an oven need refractory mortar.

Tell us how many bricks you are laying and we will suggest a quantity.

Refractory Mortar: common questions

Why use refractory mortar instead of normal mortar?

Normal building mortar breaks down under oven heat. Refractory mortar is made for the joints in the hot parts of an oven.

How much refractory mortar do I need?

It depends on the number of bricks and joint thickness. Tell us how many bricks you are laying, or your oven size, and we will suggest a quantity.
